Summer Camp

Metro Summer Camp is one of the most meaningful and impactful times of the year for Metro kids.

Many of the kids Metro reaches in New York City are impacted daily by poverty and hunger. Drugs, gang violence, and intimidation are normal where they live. 
Being jolted awake at night by the sound of gunshots and sirens is part of a regular experience. A number of these children have personally witnessed someone getting stabbed, beaten, or mugged. Sadly, many of these boys and girls have been victims of some form of abuse or neglect as well. And over the past year, we’ve seen an increase, especially in the number of our Sunday school kids who are experiencing homelessness or growing up in shelters. It can be a dark and dangerous world for kids growing up in the five boroughs of New York City.

Once a year, with the help of friends like you, we get the rare chance to take as many kids as possible out of their hostile environment — the barred windows, graffitied buildings, and dangerous streets — to experience several days of REFUGE where they are surrounded by love, laughter, and fellowship at Metro Camp.

The greatest opportunity you can give a child by sending them to camp is the chance to make a decision for Christ that will change their life for eternity!
